The 4-Hour Body Review NYC Done Healthy!
The 4-Hour Body by Tim Ferriss is a guide to fat-loss, great sex, and becoming as big as a body-builder. If you read Tims book, The 4-Hour Workweek, you know Tim takes a minimalist approach to achieve his goals. He takes a similar approach in The 4-Hour Body, making the tiniest changes that produce the greatest results to drop weight, increase muscle, have better sex, better sleep and get stronger.
According to Tim, if you apply his methods, you can:*
Lose 20 pounds in 30 days (without exercise) on the Slow-Carb Diet
Gain 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days, without steroids and only 4 hours at the gym
My thoughts on the book? The methods he uses for fat-loss and muscle gain have been used for many years and is familiar to most of us. We all know if you avoid refined carbohydrates (such as white bread, pasta, potatoes, cereal, etc), you will drop weight, and very quickly. Similarly, if you increase the weights you use at the gym (and perform reps to failure), you will gain muscle (as long as you fuel your body properly).
Bingeing while preventing weight gain has also been used by nutritionists for many years, whereby a client on a very low-calorie diet binges once every 7 days, eating literally everything in sight (around 3-4 times the calories they normally eat), to restore carb levels in muscles. Most of us that are weight-conscious do something similar (although not as extreme), where we eat pretty healthy during the week and have a cheat day when we can have all the foods we normally crave, but dont eat during the week.
I will definitely use some of the methods in The 4-Hour Body, such as eating less refined carbs, eating more protein and performing workouts to failure. I think the book is a good read and sheds some light on certain topics, such as why less exercise can actually yield greater muscle gain. If you are a male, you might want to check out the chapter on the how to produce 15-minute orgasms.
The book is available on Amazon for $13.99. Buy is using this link:
